Cybersecurity for Renewable Energy

In the renewable energy sector, the safe and efficient management of plants is essential to ensure business continuity and protection of company assets.
However, technological evolution and the increasing interconnectedness of devices and networks make them increasingly vulnerable to cyberattacks.

An important project saw us as protagonists in the design and implementation phase of an IT architecture for the management of a wind farm equipped with a remotely accessible SCADA system.

1️⃣ The need:
Implement a resilient cyber infrastructure, capable of guaranteeing the protection of company assets, business continuity and secure and controlled remote access.

2️⃣ The solution:
- ICS/OT network protection: Implement network segmentation, advanced firewalls, and access control to separate operational infrastructure from corporate networks, reducing the risk of attacks and threat propagation.
- Remote access security: Establish a structured system to ensure SCADA monitoring, preventing unauthorized intrusions and securing sensitive connections.
- Authentication and user management: Adoption of secure VPNs, two-factor authentication and profiling systems for selective access to resources according to a "zero trust" logic.

3️⃣ The result:
- A resilient IT architecture, which ensures a reliable flow of data and adequate protection against cyber threats.
- Secure remote access for staff, allowing efficient and flexible management of the SCADA system.
- 24-hour monitoring and support.
- A quick response in the event of a breach or attempted intrusion.
- Continuous updates and adaptations.

An infrastructure designed to meet today's challenges, but also to adapt to future industrial security scenarios. 🚀
